Looking through the update post I started nearly a month ago, I realized it was so long, rambling, and involved, it would give G.R.R. Martin’s “Game of Thrones” a run for the money — not to mention the overall vibe was downright sob-sister-ish.
So … into the shredder.
And now, the Cliff Notes version ….
My Rhythm is the best it’s ever been. The last three competitions (Manhattan Dancesport in June, Empire in August and Constitution State in October) left me speechless, stunning results in not only the single dances but the scholarships to boot.
Next on the agenda was my final Silver Syllabus checkout—Trophy Level. Yes, people, I’m back up to Gold.
And here’s the kicker. The Icon announced that our Honor Dance at the Awards Ceremony would not be the Rumba (as it’s been for the last 3 or 4 years). We were going to demo a portion of our Gold showcase waltz, thereby officially launching our return to American Smooth.
So get ready, because come February 24th and 25th, I’ll be dancing both Rhythm and Smooth at the New York Dance Festival.
Oh, and on a parting note (you KNOW this is a lead-in to future fun and games):
Be Careful What You Wish For. You Just Might Get It.
